Registered Veterinary Technician (Hourly, Full Time)
Job Summary
Work with Veterinarians and other hospital staff to provide high-quality, safe, effective and compassionate veterinary services for pets and their owners. Salary Range: $20 to $25 per hour
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care for pets
- Assist Veterinarians with examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Assist Veterinarians during operations.
- Conduct dental cleanings
- Restrain animals for examinations and procedures when necessary
- Maintain supplies and equipment.
- Maintain and update medical records.
- Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews.
- Complete laboratory tests and and diagnostic imaging.
- Take vital signs and collect samples, including urine and fecal samples
- Administer medications, drugs, and vaccines.
- Bandage and wrap wounds.
- Support animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
- Explain animal status and home care instructions to owners.
- Prepare surgery table instruments.
- Administer local/regional anesthesia.
- Place catheters and obtain blood gases as needed.
- Provide instruction to Veterinary Assistants and Technician Assistants to assist with development of their job skills.
- Obtain and verify medications.
- Perform hygiene-related duties, such as clipping animals’ nails, expressing anal glands, bathing or cleaning and polishing teeth.
- Laundry
- Maintain safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations.
- Clean cages, runs, boarding area and/or hospital facilities, including exam rooms, treatment room, isolation area, bathroom and doctor’s office.
- Perform office reception duties, such as scheduling appointments or helping customers.

Job Requirements/Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Registered Veterinary Technician certification from an accredited organization
- Minimum of two years experience working in a veterinary clinic
- Ability to learn veterinary software Vetter
- Ability to work on feet for up to 8 hours per day

Veterinary Assistant (Hourly, Full Time)
Job Summary
Work with veterinarians and other hospital staff to provide high-quality, safe, effective and compassionate veterinary services for pets and their owners. Salary Range: $15 to $20 per hour.

- Provide compassionate care for pets
- Assist Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with examinations, administering vaccinations, blood draws, dental preparations and in-patient procedures.
- Supports animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
- Restrain animals for examinations and procedures when necessary.
- Assist in the taking of x-rays
- Take vital signs and collects samples.
- Clean and prepare surgical area and patient for surgery and assist Veterinarian and Veterinary Technicians during surgery.
- Bandages and wraps wounds.
- Perform hygiene-related duties, such as clipping animals’ nails, expressing anal glands, bathing or cleaning and polishing teeth.

Veterinary Assistant / Pet Care (Hourly, Full Time or Part Time)
Job Summary
Work with veterinarians, veterinary assistants and veterinary technicians to provide high-quality, safe, effective and compassionate veterinary services for pets and their owners. Salary Range: $15 to $18 per hour
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Transporting animals to and from the kennels.
- Ensuring that the animals have ample, fresh food and water at all times.
- Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, hair, and other debris from the kennels.
- Disposing of trash in a timely manner.
- Grooming, playing with, and administering treatment to animals under the auspices of the Veterinarian.
- Accompanying animals on walks, if required.
- Calming animals who are in distress.
- Adjusting the air temperature to ensure that the animals remain comfortable.
- Reporting significant changes in functioning to the Veterinarian or medical professional on duty.
- Take incoming pets to appropriate areas, and retrieve pets that are being discharged
- Bathe pets and prepare them for discharge
- Laundry
- Assist Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants with administering vaccinations, blood draws, dental preparations and in-patient procedures. Monitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized/boarded pets
- Assisting clients with retail purchases, such as pet food, medications and supplements
- Perform office reception duties, such as scheduling appointments or helping customers.
- Evacuating all animals if an emergency occurs.
- Clean and prepare surgical area and patient for surgery and assist Veterinarian and Veterinary Technicians during surgery. Clean cages, runs, boarding area and/or hospital facilities, including exam rooms, treatment room, isolation area, bathroom and doctor’s office
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or valid work permit if under 18 years of age
- Previous experience caring for animals strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently with good time management
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on feet for up to 8 hours per day, occasionally outdoors in inclement weather
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays is essential.
- A passion for animal welfare.
Office Administrator (full or part time)
The successful candidate will
- Have at least two years of office administration experience, including supervising employees
- Be flexible and able to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
- Have experience with a variety of office software (email, spreadsheets, word processing and databases); Mac experience a plus
- Be a team player and work well with others (human, canine and feline)
- Show great attention to detail
- Be able to communicate effectively in person and in writing
- Have a creative approach to issues and challenges and a tendency toward positivity
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Various Human Resources responsibilities including recruiting and onboarding staff, reviewing timecards and processing payroll, maintaining employee records, administering benefits and workers compensation programs
- Implementing and updating policies as defined in the Employee Handbook
- Supervising employees, including providing feedback, performance counseling and disciplinary actions when appropriate
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies pertaining to business and veterinary operations
- Assisting the Owner and Practice Manager in making decisions necessary for the day to day running of the hospital
- Maintaining business communications with vendors, service providers and other professional contacts
- Answering phones and assisting clients as needed
Veterinary experience as an RVT or Veterinary Assistant is desired, but not required. Salary Range: $25 to $35 per hour.
